Day 1 : Around Azay-le-Rideau

  • 21 km
For this first day, take your time to explore Azay-le-Rideau castle, an amazing Renaissance castle built on a small island in the middle of Indre river. Take your bikes for a first ride around the city.

Day 2 : Azay-le-Rideau - Villandry - Azay-le-Rideau

  • 37 km
Today, you will ride to Villandry, which is the last castle re-built in the area. But the most impressive part of Villandry is without any doubt its French gardens. Take your time to discover these beautiful creations.

Day 3 : Azay-le-Rideau - Ussé - Azay-le-Rideau

  • 37 km
Today, you will follow the Indre river until your reach the small city of Bréhémont. There, follow the Loire river to Rigny-Ussé. Feel free this castle which inspired the one in Sleeping Beauty (not included).

Day 4 : Azay-le-Rideau - Langeais - Azay-le-Rideau

  • 40 km
For this last day, go back in time with the visit of Langeas castle, one of the rarest medieval monument. Then, come back to Azay-le-Rideau to drop your bikes off.

This trip around Azay-le-Rideau is a good way to discover less known but beautifully preserved castles as Azay-le-Rideau, Villandry and Langeais.
 
How to arrive in Azay-le-Rideau ?
By train : Azay-le-Rideau Station. Our partner is located at a 20min. walk from the station.
By car:: Highway A85, Azay-le-Rideau exit

Parking rue de Chinon - at 400m from our partner / at 1.7km from Azay-le-Rideau Station
Parking Place du 11 Novembre 1918 - at 350m from our partner / at 1.8km from Azay-le-Rideau Station (Closed on wednesday)
