Day 1 : Tours - Chenonceaux

  • 33 km
Leave Tours and head up the Cher to the village of Chenonceaux. Take time to discover its castle, with its extremely rich history. You can also visit its exterior, with its gardens, forests and labyrinth. You will spend your first night in Chenonceaux.

Day 2 : Chenonceaux - Chaumont-sur-Loire

  • 29 km
Leave the Cher valley for the Loire valley and the village of Chaumont-sur-Loire. Visit its 32-hectare estate: gardens, châteaux, contemporary art exhibition - don't leave too late to make the most of it. You will spend your second night in Chaumont-sur-Loire.

Day 3 : Chaumont-sur-Loire - Amboise

  • 23 km
The tracks, passing through a number of vineyards - don't hesitate to stop! - take you this morning to royal Amboise. Take time this afternoon to visit its royal château. You spend your last night in Amboise.

Day 4 : Amboise - Tours

  • 28 km
Make the most of the morning by visiting Leonardo da Vinci's last home: Clos Lucé. Then get on your bikes and cycle to your final destination: Tours. You'll pass through Montlouis-sur-Loire, whose AOC wine is well worth a stop!

Your route :
Set off from Tours for a 4-day tour of Touraine. Follow the trails of the Loire à Vélo and discover the most emblematic châteaux!
 
How do I get to Tours?
By train: Tours SNCF station. Our partner is a 10-minute walk from the station.  
By car: A10 motorway, Tours-Centre/St-Pierre-des-Corps exit.
 
Where can you leave your car?
Free car parks:
Parking Indigo Tours Vinci Gare (reservation possible, approx. €90 for 7 days) - 160m from our partner Rouelib / 220m from Tours station
Parking Indigo Champ Girault (reservation possible, approx. €60 for 7 days) - 700m from our partner Rouelib / 350m from Tours station
 
Additional information:
All our hotels have been awarded the Accueil Vélo label, which means they have a secure bike room where you can safely store your bike.
You will receive all your holiday documents via an application before departure, which will contain the daily itineraries as well as the e-tickets as included in the holiday.
As the tickets are undated, you can swap days! What's more, they're ticket-free, so you won't have to queue at the entrance to the estates.
