Itinerary
8 jours entre Blois et Nantes

Day 1 : Blois - Chaumont-sur-Loire - Amboise

  • 44 km
From Blois, follow the cycle path running along the Loire river until you reach Chaumont-sur-Loire. You will need at least half a day to discover the whole site: a Renaissance castle, a park where you can find pieces of art on exhibition & an International garden festival which changes every year according to a theme. Keep cycling until you arrive in Amboise.

Day 2 : Amboise - Villandry

  • 50 km
Do not leave to late from Amboise. Take the cycle path along the Loire river to reach your destination, Villandry. You will go through Tours, feel free to make a stop there to discover the old district. Arriving in Villandry, take your time to explore the French gardens that are a delight to discover.

Day 3 : Villandry - Azay-le-Rideau - Chinon

  • 45 km
You will cycle through the countryside to reach Azay-le-Rideau and its elegant castle and its famous water mirror. After the visit, follow the Indre river to the village of Bréhémont and its beautiful panoramas. Keep cycling until you arrive in Chinon where you will spend the night.

Day 4 : Chinon - Gennes

  • 53 km
Start the morning with the visit of the medieval fortress of Chinon. Then, follow the Vienne river to the lovely town of Candes-Saint-Martin - labelled one of the most beautiful villages - where you will take the Loire river banks until you reach Gennes.

Day 5 : Gennes - Angers

  • 40 km
Today, you will reach Angers. Do not leave to late to have enough time to visit Angers castle and its amazing Revelations tapestry, made in the 14th century! The town offers an interesting walk to discover the old district beside the Cathedral - a must-see too!

Day 6 : Angers - Montjean-sur-Loire

  • 36 km
Follow the Loire river to Bouchemaine which offers a beautiful panorama on the surrounding nature. Then, keep cycling to Savennières, a small village where you can taste some local wines. You will spend the night in Montjean-sur-Loire.

Day 7 : Montjean-sur-Loire - Champtoceaux

  • 40 km
On your way to Champtoceaux, you will come across Ancenis and its old pier. Make a stop in Oudon which offers a stunning view on its castle and the valley.

Day 8 : Champtoceaux - Nantes

  • 30 km
Just before reaching Nantes, make a stop in Mauves-sur-Loire where you can find food trucks, a cafe and even activities but only during summer time... The, drop your bikes off in our partner shop in Nantes.

How to arrive in Blois?

By train : Blois-Chambord Station. Our shop is at a 5 min. walk from the station.

By car: Highway A10, Blois/Vendôme exit

 
How to get back to Blois from Amboise ?
By train - from Amboise Station to Blois-Chambord station: about 25 min / 15 trains per day
We do not sell train tickets. Please contact SNCF for more information.

Fee-paying parking lots: 
Streets paking (4.80€ per day / 12€ ticket for 7 days)
(To get the 7 days ticket at the parking meter: yellow button -> 1 -> Enter your licence plate -> "Valider" - > "Max")

Le Parking du Château (9€ per day / 28€ ticket for 7 days) - at 300m from our shop / at 350m from Blois-Chambord Station
 
More information:
Our hotels are accreditated Accueil Vélo (Cyclist welcome): they all have a secure bikes room to store yours during the night.
You will receive all your travel documents through an app to download on your mobile phone. It will contain every day itineraries and your e-tickets for the castles as included in your journey. 
On the first day, you must arrive before 9:30am. If you plan to arrive later, please contact us.
On the last day, your luggage will be delivered for 5:30pm.
